Consultation Plan Overview

The Saskatchewan Child Welfare Review is holding stakeholder consultations throughout the province from April to June 2010. Stakeholders will be invited to participate in the consultation process through one of three ways.

• Electronic Consultation – online questionnaire accessed by individuals through the Saskatchewan Child Welfare Review website. This approach is open to everyone and no invitation is required.  It will be launched April 1, 2010 and close June 30, 2010.
  
  
• Written Submissions – written papers, letters, photo essays, poems, or other submissions by individuals or organizations. Stakeholders will be invited to submit a written submission, although anyone who submits something in written form will be included in this method. The written consultations will launch in April 2010 and run until June 20, 2010.
  
  
• Consultation Meetings – Meetings with the panel will be scheduled for stakeholders to share their views on child welfare and/or the views of the group they represent. The panel will invite some stakeholders to participate in a meeting and other groups will be asked to provide a written submission.

The Panel will be inviting a variety of key stakeholders to participate in the consultation process. This will include people who have experience with the child welfare system, human service and child serving professionals and associations, as well as other people and organizations who are involved with the child welfare system.
